Edit User Access Profiles

How to edit Access Profiles for your Users and manage their security levels

Please note that this guide is only for Users with System Admin permissions.

  1. Firstly, click on System Admin from the top-right corner of Tractivity.
  2. On the centre navigation bar click the Projects tab. Then, from the list of Projects, click on the Project you wish to amend User Access Profiles for.
  3. You are now on the View Project screen. Scroll down to the centre navigation bar and find the tab Access Profiles. Click on the Access Profile you want to edit.
  4. On the “View Profile” screen, you can see a list of the modules available on Tractivity. Each of these modules can be given one of three “security levels”:
    • Edit Access – Users can create, edit and view all records in the module.
    • Read Only Access – Users can only view existing records.
    • Off – The module will not be accessible and will not appear on the top navigation bar.
The security level you choose will determine whether the User can use the module, browse its contents, or see the module at all. This is useful for restricting access to information that you consider to be on a “need-to-know”-only basis. It can also help streamline Tractivity for any users that will only be using select parts of the system, such as recording stakeholders and their interactions.
  5. Edit the security level for each module by clicking “Edit”, on the right-hand side of the page. Then select the security level you want, before clicking “OK” to save your changes.
  6. To change the name of an Access Profile, click "Edit Profile" from the left-hand menu when on the "View Profile" page. Type the new name into the "Title" field", then click "OK" to save your changes.
