How to Install Tractivity Outlook Integration

To install Outlook Integration, you will find instructions detailing how you can centrally install it by your IT team. In order to streamline the process, we kindly request that you share this article with your IT team.

To ensure a smooth installation, we recommend following the guidelines provided in the Microsoft documentation on managing the deployment of add-ins: Microsoft Documentation Link.

It's important to note that Microsoft does not advise the "Sideloading" method, where users individually install the add-in. Instead, we strongly recommend the centralised deployment approach outlined in the article above.

To initiate the installation, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Microsoft 365 Admin portal (https://admin.microsoft.com)
  2. In the left-hand menu, click "Show all"


  3. In the left menu, select "Settings", then "Integrated apps"


  4. In the main windows, click "Upload custom apps"


  5. In the "App type" drop down, select "Office Add-in"

  6. Select "Provide link to manifest file"


  7. For Stage Systems, use the link below:

    For Live Systems, use:
    https://www.tractivity.co.uk/hubfs/Outlook%20AddIn/Tractivity_Outlook_AddIn_v1

  8. Click "Validate"


  9. Once Validated, Click "Next"
  10. Select who will have access to the plugin
  11. Click Next
  12. Review the permissions, and click Next
  13. Review the deployment, then click "Finish deployment"
  14. The Outlook Add-in will now be deployed to the selected users.

Note : If you would like to use SSO for your system, please let us know after you have set up your SSO and installed the add-in, and we will complete the setup required on our end.

Also be aware that the Add-In only supports OIDC and not SAML.

 

Please kindly note: 

  • Outlook for Mac does not currently support the add-in. Mac users can use the web version for a seamless experience; 
  • For Outlook 365, the version supported is Version 2202 Build 16.0.14931.20602, 32-bit and above; 

  • We utilise Outlook API version 1.8 and support clients compatible with this version or above. For details, refer to: Outlook API Requirement Sets.  

  • The Add-In supports OIDC for SSO authentication. SAML is not supported.
