New Email Builder - Content Tab - Icons

Icons are a great way to organise and emphasise the content in your Event Invite email. Give them a try if you feel like your email is missing a certain something to stand out with your stakeholders.

  • You can find the icon content block under the Content tab, to the right-hand side of the builder. Simply drag the icon block over to an empty content space on one of your email’s rows.

Click on the empty Icon space and a new menu will appear to the right-hand side. This is the “Content Properties” menu, where you’ll find

  • Click on Add New Icon to add a new icon – as simple as that.
  • Click Change Image by your new icon in the Content Properties menu, and you can select any of your uploaded images as a new icon. Choose the image you want to use as an icon and click “Insert”.
  • More than one icon can be added into an icon content block. Just click “Add New Icon” again to add another icon. Click “Delete” here to remove an icon from the content block.
  • Clicking the More Options toggle allows you to further customise an icon:
    • The Image URL field can change the icon to be an image outside of the uploaded images. Just paste the address (URL) for the image you want to use into this field. “
    • The Alt text field will add text to an icon when you hover your mouse cursor over the icon in an email.
    • The Icon text field will include text to the side of the icon. You can customise this text using the Font options further down the form:
      • Font Family lets you select the font to use
      • Font weight can make the text bold
      • Font size lets you change the font’s size
      • Text colour will change the colour of the text.
    • Icons can also be made into links. Just add the link in the URL field under the Link type sub-header.
      • The Link type option lets you pick between a standard hyperlink, a phone call, a new email or a download link.
      • The Target option lets you select whether to open the link in a new tab or in the current tab you are using, if viewing the email on a web browser.
    • The Align option can place your icon, and any included text, to the left, right or centre of the content block.
    • If you want to space out the letters in your text more, use the Letter spacing
    • Icon size can control the size of your icon.
    • If you’re using more than one icon, Icon spacing controls the amount of empty space between your icons.
    • Icon padding will create additional empty space around all of your icons. The “more options” toggle here will let you customise this further to add space to the top, bottom, right or left of the icon specifically.
    • Padding will add extra space around the edge of the content block. You can use “more options” to add space on a specific side of the content block.
    • The last option at the bottom of the menu lets you hide the icon content block on a specific device – either mobile or desktop. Click the X to remove this choice.
