What is an enquiry? What is an Activity?
Activities are Interactions with your Stakeholders.
Any interaction between stakeholders and team members are considered activities, inside Tractivity. Activities are configured to your organisation's requirements and frequently feature, phone calls, emails, meetings and letters drops.
An Enquiry acts as a folder for your Activities.
Definition of enquiry - an act of asking for information.
If you use Tractivity for general stakeholder engagement, the need to create an enquiry may be reduced; however, if you are in consultation, all activities should be attached to an Enquiry.
Creating an enquiry is a simple way for you to group all interactions with your stakeholders, allowing you to link communications to a Phase, Stakeholder Category, Reason for Engagement and any Associated Organisation.
Any areas of concerns or issues raised can be attached to an enquiry. There is no limit to the number of issues you can raise.
Do I need an Enquiry?
The below diagram shows the same information been added to Tractivity, but in two different ways.
The first example uses Enquiries; the second example does not.
In example two, if asked to extract all the activities that are linked to the 'road closure' you would not be able to do so, easily. Whereas in example two this would be very easily achieved.
