Accessing the Outlook Add-in

Open and log into Tractivity from your Outlook add-in

In this article, you will learn how to open the Tractivity add-in in your Microsoft Outlook program. We’ll also explain how to log into Tractivity through the add-in.

Finding your Tractivity add-in

The Tractivity add-in will appear on the top banner, or ribbon, on your Outlook program. Look for the red Tractivity icon, as seen in our logo. Click this icon to open the Tractivity add-in.

If the Tractivity icon is not displaying in your Outlook program, please contact the person from your IT team that managed installation of the add-in.

You can pin the add-in using the pin icon in the top right-hand corner of the window. This will keep it visible when switching between emails and folders.

Logging in

You log into the Outlook add-in using the same method that you use to log into the main Tractivity website; either Single Sign On or username and password. (You can learn more about Single Sign On here.)

Open the add-in and click Log On. This will open a new window. You will be asked to enter a Tractivity URL. This is the URL (or web address) for your Tractivity system. The address is usually formatted like below:

[ORGANISATION NAME].tractivity.co.uk

If you aren’t sure what your Tractivity URL is, log in as usual to your Tractivity system and you will find the URL at the top of your browser window. Click Log In once you have entered your URL.

The next page will ask you to either enter your username or password or log in with your usual Single Sign-On method. Log in as usual. Once you have logged in, the window will close, and the add-in window will refresh.

Once logged in, you can see the details of the Contacts included in your currently open email. Contacts that already exist in your system (or the currently accessed Project) will display as red circles; grey circle are for anyone in the email that have not yet been made into a Contact.

Changing Projects

This section is for Users with access to multiple Projects inside their system.

You can change the Project you are currently accessing using the drop-down menu at the top of the add-in. Just select the Project you would like to access, and the add-in page will refresh. Any Contacts not in the new Project will appear as grey circles.
