FREE ASSESSMENT

How effective is your stakeholder engagement?

Most organisations know stakeholder engagement matters. Fewer know exactly where they stand. This free scorecard gives you a clear, honest picture in under five minutes.

Answer 15 straightforward questions across five categories, from how well you know your stakeholders to whether you can prove the value of your engagement, and get a personalised breakdown with practical recommendations you can act on today.

What you'll discover

  • Your overall engagement maturity level, from Early Stage to Advanced

  • Specific insights on where you’re strong and where the gaps are

  • A score across five categories of effective engagement

  • Tailored next steps and resources matched to your level

Take the scorecard below. It takes about five minutes, and your personalised results appear as soon as you finish.

How the scorecard works

The assessment takes you through five categories that reflect the fundamentals of effective stakeholder engagement. For each one, you’ll choose the option that best describes how things work in your organisation today, not how you’d like them to be.
1

Knowing your stakeholders

How well do you understand who your stakeholders are, how they connect, and whether that picture is shared. At its strongest, there’s one current record per stakeholder that anyone who needs it can find, and that knowledge stays with you when people move on. At the weak end, the truth lives in someone’s spreadsheet, or three of them, and walks out of the door when they do.
2

Keeping in touch

Is your day-to-day engagement structured and reliable. At its strongest, every interaction is logged against the stakeholder, teams work from one view, and the same person isn’t approached inconsistently by different colleagues. At the weak end, follow-ups, issues and sentiment shifts slip through the cracks, and every team keeps its own list.
3

Staying on top of things

Do you have clear ownership, a defined strategy and leadership support. At its strongest, someone owns engagement, there’s a plan, and the board backs it with budget and attention. At the weak end, it’s everyone’s job and no one’s, and it only gets attention when something goes wrong.
4

Protecting your data

Is your stakeholder data secure, compliant and controlled. At its strongest, consent and unsubscribes are tracked and enforced, access is set by role, and your handling is demonstrably GDPR compliant. At the weak end, consent lives in inboxes, data is scattered across personal files, and anyone can see anything.
5

Proving your impact

Can you show the value of your work and stand up to scrutiny. At its strongest, a board or regulator report is a few clicks, you can see how sentiment is shifting, and you could show who engaged whom, when, how and to what effect, on demand. At the weak end, reporting is days of manual rebuilding, and evidence is a scramble when a regulator, FOI request or challenge comes in.

Who this is for

The scorecard is designed for anyone responsible for stakeholder engagement, whether you’re a dedicated stakeholder manager, a project lead juggling engagement alongside delivery, or a director trying to understand how well your organisation is set up.

It works wherever you are in the journey. If you’re at the beginning and still working things out, it will show you where the biggest risks are. If you’re already structured and looking to improve, it will highlight the areas where a step up would have the most impact.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the scorecard take?

Under five minutes. There are 15 multiple-choice questions across five categories, and most people complete it in three to four minutes.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No. The questions are about how things work in your organisation today. You don’t need to gather data or consult anyone else, just answer based on your own experience.

What happens with my results?

You’ll see your personalised results immediately after completing the form: an overall score, a breakdown by category, insights on what the scores mean for your organisation, and recommended next steps with supporting resources.

Will someone contact me?

We’ll send you a copy of your results by email so you have them to hand. If your score suggests areas where Tractivity could help, we may follow up with relevant resources, but there’s no obligation and no hard sell.

Is the scorecard really free?

Yes, completely. We built it because we believe better stakeholder engagement starts with understanding where you stand. The scorecard is a genuine tool, not a teaser.

Can I share it with colleagues?

Absolutely. Each person can complete it individually and compare results. It’s a useful way to see whether your team has a shared view of where you are.

What are the four maturity levels?

Early Stage means there are significant gaps that need attention. Aware means you’ve made a start but tools and processes are holding you back. Progressing means you’re in a strong position and it’s about optimising. Advanced means your engagement is mature and strategically aligned.
